We are so thankful to all of you who have decided to come out to Charleston to celebrate this big moment in our lives. While we know this is Our Big Day, we want this to be a time for YOU to have fun as well. Depending on if you come down to Charleston just for a few days or a whole week, there is a ton for you to do! We are certain you will fall in love with the city just like we have.


Wedding Venue: 1500 Old Towne Rd, Charleston, SC 29407.


The wedding will be held at Legare Waring House inside Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site. This is on the west side of the Ashley River, across the bridge from downtown Charleston. It is a 12 minute drive from downtown Charleston, 16 minutes from Mt Pleasant, and 20 minutes from Folly Beach.




Getting to Charleston:


The main airport is Charleston International Airport (CHS) in North Charleston. It is 20 minutes from the terminal to both Charleston and Mt. Pleasant, and 30 minutes to Folly Beach. Uber/Lyft will be available. Your decision to rent a car will come down to what you plan to do while visiting, and how long you will be staying. If you are staying in downtown Charleston you won't want or need a car. For Folly and Mt. Pleasant, a car will provide you more freedom and flexibility.
If you're driving, parking won't be a hassle anywhere except parts of downtown Charleston. There are plenty of parking garages available if the hotel does not provide parking, with the Cumberland Street and Concord parking garages being the best overall spots to leave the car and enjoy Charleston for the day.


Where to stay:


With the venue being within 15-20 minutes of most of the Charleston area, there is lots of flexibility in picking a location to stay. October at the Carolina coast is the best time of the year, and the ocean water will still be warm, so Folly Beach or Sullivans Island will be two great places to get a beach house for a few days and enjoy the end of summer in the south.
If you prefer to stay inland, Mt. Pleasant to the east is the main suburb of Charleston and has lots of reasonably priced hotels to choose from with many of them on or near the Cooper River. If you want the true Charleston experience, anything south of the highway is a great option, but the closer you get to the southern tip of Charleston the nicer it gets. We highly recommend anything south of Calhoun Street, but the big name hotels on King Street are good options as well. Charleston is of the best and easiest walking cities in the country with amazing food and drinks everywhere, so you can't go wrong with any part of town.
